MTV VMA 2020: VINCONO LADY GAGA, “THE WEEKND” ED IL RAPPER MACHINE GUN KELLY. A TAYLOR SWIFT, INTERVENUTA VIA VIDEOMESSAGGIO, IL RICONOSCIMENTO PER LA SUA PRIMA REGIA IN “THE MAN”..

 

 

 Tributata alla recente scomparsa dell’attore Chadwick Boseman (QUI il precedente post), l’interprete sul grande schermo del supereroe della “Marvel”, “Black Panther”, venuto a mancare pochi giorni fa a soli 43 anni.. la speciale serata di consegna degli “MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) 2020”, in diretta nella notte da New York in versione parzialmente rivista per ottemperare alle precauzioni di distanziamento anti-Covid.. dopo la speciale apertura affidata all’artista canadese “The Weeknd”, che ha cantato la sua “Blinding Lights” (QUI).. ha incoronato lui e Lady Gaga i trionfatori di questa inusuale edizione. Se il cantautore si è, infatti, aggiudicato la categoria principale di “video of the year” con lo stesso brano ed il “best r&b video”.. la popstar femminile apparsa con mascherina fashion d’ordinanza e tutina argentata aderente di Valentino, destinataria anche del nuovo “Tricon Award” a lei consegnato dalla modella Bella Hadid, si è invece conquistata il titolo di “artist of the year” che ha onorato sul palco esibendosi con la collega Ariana Grande nella loro “Rain on Me”, con cui insieme hanno vinto per la “best collaboration” e la “song of the year”.

Per la prima volta hanno esultato, a vittoria ottenuta.. Maluma, premiato con il “best latin video” per il pezzo “Que Pena” cantato con J Balvin e visto esibirsi in solitaria.. ed il rapper Machine Gun Kelly, fresco di ufficializzazione social con la bellissima Megan Fox (QUI), che ha ottenuto il “best alternative video” con la sua “Bloody Valentine”, nel cui videoclip la protagonista è la stessa modella e star dagli occhi di ghiaccio. Un riconoscimento inatteso, alla sua prima regia, è stato infine assegnato a Taylor Swift per la sua “The Man”, che è perciò intervenuta per i ringraziamenti di rito via videomessaggio.. e altre categorie celebrative, “best music video from home” e “best quarantine performance”, sono state introdotte con riferimento al lungo lockdown. Ma on stage è tornata anche Miley Cyrus dopo l’arrivo in Thierry Mugler.. per presentare la sua “Midnight Sky“ e festeggiare il trionfo con il “best editing” ed il “best art direction” del pezzo “Mother’s Daughter”..
