Recuperata ieri, dopo il rinvio obbligato dello scorso Aprile a causa dell’esplodere della pandemia da “Covid-19”.. la cerimonia di consegna 2020 dei “Billboard Music Awards“, spostata per quest’anno dalla cornice abituale della “MGM Grand Garden Arena” di Las Vegas al “Dolby Theater” di Los Angeles, ha visto fare incetta di premi e riconoscimenti con ben 9 titoli portati a casa al rapper Post Malone.. risultato in vetta come “miglior artista”, “miglior artista maschile” e “miglior artista rap”.. ma anche come “miglior artista di canzoni in streaming” e “miglior performer” sia nella “Top Billboard 200 Artist” che nella “Top Hot 100 Artist”. E’ di Billie Eilish, l’artista femminile rivelazione dell’anno, il “Top Billboard 200 Album”.. “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”.. mentre la canzone più venduta, in testa anche per gli streaming, è risultata essere “Old Town Road”.. nata dalla collaborazione fra il cantante country Billy Ray Cyrus, padre di Miley, ed il rapper Lil Nas X. Ma sono stati premiati anche.. i “Jonas Brothers” come “miglior gruppo”, con la canzone più suonata alla radio.. “Sucker”.. e.. P!nk, come artista in tour.. così come la colonna sonora di “Frozen II”, dal sequel del classico della “Disney”.
Con i vincitori, sul palco si sono alternati.. le cantanti.. Sia.. ed Alicia Keys.. ma anche John Legend, che al piano ha dedicato alla moglie Chrissy Teigen.. ancora in lutto per la recente perdita del bimbo che la coppia aspettava.. la sua commovente “Never Break”. Ma è tornata anche Cher.. già vincitrice di un “Icon Award” nel 2017.. per omaggiare con lo stesso riconoscimento il collega Garth Brooks..
