E’ andata in scena nella notte, a Santa Monica, in California.. la tradizionale cerimonia di consegna dei “Critics’ Choice Awards”, ovvero i premi che la critica americana assegna ogni anno ai migliori prodotti del cinema e della tv, giunti quest’anno alla 24esima edizione che ha avuto come cerimoniere l’attore Taye Diggs.
Quattro riconoscimenti sono andati a “Roma”, il film di Alfonso Cuaròn risultato “miglior film” ed anche “migliore pellicola straniera”, con lo stesso regista che è stato premiato per la “miglior regia” e la “migliore fotografia”.. il “miglior attore” è ancora Christian Bale, anche “miglior attore in una commedia”, per il ruolo dell’ex vicepresidente statunitense Dick Cheney interpretato in “Vice”.. e la “miglior attrice protagonista” è stata confermata Glenn Close, per “The Wife”, a pari merito però con la cantante Lady Gaga, protagonista di “A Star Is Born”, che si è imposta ancora con “Shallow” anche per la “miglior canzone”.
Per la tv, premi alle serie.. “The Americans”, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” e “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”.. e agli attori Matthew Rhys, Sandra Oh ed Amy Adams.
